We have an approved offer on a shy 5 acre parcel, near schools, parks, and directly on a bike trail. It's perfect. And don't even get me started on the view!
But first, we need to build a house. The home itself will be an efficient 1232 sq/ft. We've selected the Ainsworth design from Adair Homes.
There's so much to do to make this happen. Right now I'm hustling to get bids on well drilling, septic installation, and figuring out just how much it's all going to cost. Estimates for site prep are apparently around 45k-65k, which is well above the 25k that I had guesstimated.
This will be an open book on our build process, as well as the trials and tribulations of running and establishing our little farm.
And I'll be blunt with our budgets. Some may consider it crass to post financials, but I know how daunting the build process can be and how helpful it can be to have actual numbers to assist in planning. So stay tuned!
